With the help of a set of blowers, we teach clients basic oral-motor skills in oral positioning therapy. With the help of the hierarchy of blowers, we encourage lip closure, abdominal phasing, and airflow control, which are prerequisites for improving velopharyngeal function and better vocalization. Combined with the hierarchy of straws, this technique is invaluable for encouraging tongue retraction. It is also useful for reducing or stopping drooling. - The hierarchy of blowers is at the heart of OPT (oral positioning therapy). The set includes one of each blower from the Talk Tools hierarchy (different colors), one replacement blower #12, and the Talk Tools instruction booklet.
