MYOSolutions is an innovative orofacial myofunctional therapy program by Merkel-Walsh that aims at 4 MYO domains™: breathing (oral posture at rest, nose breathing, elimination of bad/immature habits), swallowing (tongue thrust forward, oral preparation phase and transit phases), structure (examination of orofacial deviations and criteria for referral to specialists) and speech (difficulties in oral positioning and interdental pronunciation of sounds).

This program includes comprehensive assessment protocols and evidence-based practices that Robyn has gathered over her 30+ years of experience.

The MYOSolutions program is taught in MYOTools training sessions and incorporates many of our TalkTools® OPT tools to make the program fun and effective. It is intended for clients from age 4 through adulthood (the entire lifespan).

Remark:

For children who have an orofacial myofunctional disorder/speech-motor difficulties/complex feeding difficulties and are under 4 years old or who have difficulties, we recommend exercises from the books: A Sensory Motor Approach to Feeding, Functional Assessment and Remediation of TOTs and/or OPT for Speech Clarity and Feeding.
