Lip Gym

TalkTools Lip Gym is a lip strengthening program. The program is based on exercises from the book 'Oral Placement Therapy for Speech Clarity and Feeding' by Sarah Rosenfeld Johnson. Newly designed colorful weights added to the tongue spatula make lip closing exercises more fun!

Use this program to improve awareness, posture, strength/stability, and muscle memory for lip closure when teaching the pronunciation of bilabial phonemes /m, b, p/.

It is also useful for developing mentalis muscle position, strength/stability for producing the sounds /v/, /f/ and /r/ and the vocalic /r/ (in English).

For clients with increased salivation, this activity encourages lip closure to improve saliva swallowing and reduce salivation.
